Pastor Rachel Manke

Pastor Rachel joined St. John in Advent 2020, what a year! She earned a degree in Communication from the University of Rhode Island and after a brief career in sports and television graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia with her MDiv. After ordination, she served a redevelopment congregation in metro Boston and a church in coastal Virginia before returning to Southeast Penn. Pastor Rachel is originally from Connecticut and her family (including her parents and two brothers) are in southern New England. Lawrence Baker
Music Director
Lawrence Baker has been the Director of Music here at St. John since the fall of 2000. He received his Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting and Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Temple University. The Arts at St. John’s has been built on a strong foundation and will continue to offer the finest musical programs for the people of St. John’s while reaching out to the community at large.
Mr. Baker has worked for Augsburg Fortress Publishers, served on the Worship Committee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod (ELCA) and is a frequent clinician in the areas of liturgical worship and sacred music. When not directing, he also enjoys singing with The Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia and The Philadelphia Chorus. Contact information: [email protected] |
Marcie Godby
Bookkeeper
Marcie Godby joined St. John in the summer of 2017 as Bookkeeper. She graduated from Widener University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree, and has worked for the past 20 years as a bookkeeper for a small company.
Marcie is married with two grown married daughters, and three grandchildren. She and her husband raised their family in Collegeville, where they lived for 26 years. They currently reside in New Hanover Township.

Barry Stock
Facilities Coordinator
Barry has served as a Custodian and now Facilities Coordinator at St. John for many years. Some of Barry's responsibilities include making sure our building is ready for worship, performing much needed maintenance in our building, and supervising that our events and weddings run smoothly!
Barry and wife Rita, their children and grandchildren are all members of St. John. Barry is a member of the St. John's Handbell Choir and has served on Council and virtually every committee, taught Sunday School and confirmation, and mentored the Youth Group. Barry also served the greater church as a member of the Synod Transition and Mobility Committee.

Sue Klosterman
Office Assistant
Sue started at St. John in January 2019. She graduated from Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography with an Associate’s Degree in Specialized Technology. Sue is married and has lived in Fort Washington for almost 20 years, but was born in Philadelphia. She believes two of her greatest accomplishments have been raising her son and daughter into upstanding young adults.
Sue has held many different part-time positions over the years, but has been an artist since birth. She spends her time painting, quilting, playing tennis and exercising, always wanting to try new things in each area of interest. Contact information: [email protected] |
